We’re not saying you should get married for the stuff. However, if you’re already planning to get married, you might as well get the stuff, too. Your friends will not shell out to buy you antler wedding rings – that’s on you to purchase. However, they will buy you a bunch of stuff from Crate and Barrel, so choose wisely.

Is There a Maximum Number of Wedding Registries You Can Have?
In theory, no. However, most couples register anywhere from one to three different places. Anything beyond three gets a little unwieldy and, frankly, even you two won’t be able to keep track of them. Stick to three or fewer, but really one or two is better.
Is Money Fair Game?
In short, yes. However, there’s a certain decorum to it. If you think your guests will be scandalized by you asking for money, maybe just ask for stuff instead. If you are going to ask for money on your registry, you can tell your guests what you plan to use the money for. For example, creating a fund for a new home or your honeymoon might be an option (we’ll dive into this later).
Is Anything Off the Table?
Not really, no. However, there are definitely things you want to avoid for other reasons. You should probably leave off items like fancy clothing, beauty products and generally personal stuff that’s more like a Christmas gift than a wedding gift. It’s unlikely anyone will look at you all that weird if you put those things on there, but you likely want to allocate your registry space to other things.
Things to Add to Your Wedding Registry
Obviously, you know about all the regular stuff. You want nice pots and pans and bed sheets and whatnot. As a general rule, you want to ask for stuff that both of you will benefit from and appreciate. You can certainly add in some things that each of you likes individually, but the majority of your registry should benefit both of you.
So, besides the basics, what else can you add to your registry? We’re glad you asked.
Honeymoon Fund
This is a big one, especially if you aren’t already asking for cold hard cash. Honeymoons can get super expensive, and your friends are likely to want to help fund it. Granted, if you don’t ask, they’ll never get the chance to help, so ask away!
Outdoor Gear
Love to get out in nature? Add some gear to your list. If you’re picky about your gear, feel free to be really specific. There’s nothing worse than getting a gift for your hobby that the giver is excited about, and you have to pretend to like it, even though you know it sucks. Worse comes to worst, people just won’t buy you a $600 tent, and you’re right back to where you started.
Gift Cards
This makes everyone’s life simpler, honestly. You can get a gift card to basically everywhere, so ask away. Airbnb, airlines, big box stores, whatever your thing is. The nice thing about it is you don’t have to put a specific monetary value in your registry. Your guests can gift the amount of money they’re comfortable with.
Cocktail Gear of All Forms
If you like to entertain, now’s the time to upgrade your cocktail set. Feel free to ask for some solid, high-quality gear that’ll last a while. Really into cocktails? Now’s the time to ask for that weirdly specific piece of barware that no one would think to buy you but you desperately want.
Out There Cookware
Everyone knows you can put pans on your registry. However, what if you love cooking? Maybe you want a pizza oven or a specific carbon steel pan. If you know what you’re looking for, dream big.
Tickets
Experiences of all sorts are great for putting on your registry. Whether you love NBA games, concerts or whatever your thing is. You’ll likely be feeding the beast that is Ticketmaster, but that may just be unavoidable at this point.
Luggage
You’re gonna be jet-setting for your honeymoon anyway. You might as well do it with some sweet new carry-on luggage. Whether you want a luxury bag or some ultra-practical technical gear, throw it on the registry.
Home Gym Equipment
It’s probably gauche to ask for a Peloton bike or a power rack, but smaller items are totally fair game. Dumbbells, resistance bands, ropes, etc. All that good stuff has a place on your registry. Just be sure to take off your new men’s gold plated ring before working out to keep it looking its best!
Subscription Boxes
Whether it’s a meal kit, coffee subscription or any of the other weird and wonderful boxes you can get sent to your door, a trial subscription of one of these is great. A three-month subscription is probably a reasonable middle ground to ask for here.
Conclusion
Of course, your wedding registry is going to be unique to you. Maybe none of these things spark your interest. That would surprise us, but hey, it’s your life. Either way, hopefully these sparked some ingenuity in creating your wedding registry. Good luck!
