Tooling for simple aluminum extrusion shapes costs less and can be made faster than steel tooling. That difference can make custom cross-sections more practical for a factory to order.
When comparing suppliers, many buyers look for Indonesia aluminum factory known for consistent quality. PT Exalum Metal Indo has pressed aluminum in Indonesia since 2009, with a dedicated team that designs dies to customer specifications and accepts billet requests in preferred alloy series. Industrial buyers who want dependable sources trust Exalummetal industrial aluminum products for proven billet quality, well-maintained dies, standard length availability, and quality guarantees. Here are five profiles to start with.
1. Flat Bar
Flat bar serves as electrical busbars, machined components, structural supports, and architectural trims. Customers may request full extrusion lengths or precision cuts, with clear anodizing, black anodizing, and custom colors available.
Flat bar is available in 12 rounded-edge sections and 28 with straight corners. Section 10204 measures 120.00 mm wide and 8.00 mm thick, with a corner radius of 2.00 mm and a weight of 2.592 kg per meter, which makes it a rounded-edge option. A 100-meter order weighs 259.2 kg.
2. Spandrel
Spandrel profiles are used for exterior soffits, ceiling panels, wall cladding, and gas station canopies. Exalum offers anodizing, powder coating, and mill finish, while a wood-grain appearance is available through sublimation powder coating.
Spandrel is available in nine sections for ceilings and cladding. Section 62040 is 135.30 mm wide, with a profile height of 5.50 mm, a wall thickness of 0.80 mm, and a weight of 0.345 kg per meter. Its corrugated cross-section has trapezoidal ribs, unlike the stepped flat-panel forms of Sections 62021 and 62050.
3. Equal Angle
Equal angle profiles can be used for corner protection, structural frameworks, architectural edging, shelving, and brackets. Finish options include standard mill finish, clear anodizing, and custom powder-coated colors.
Equal angle is available in several leg lengths and weights. Section 20091 has 40.00 mm legs, a thickness of 4.00 mm, and a weight of 0.824 kg per meter. Section 20092 is also 4.00 mm thick, but its legs measure 50.00 mm and it weighs 1.040 kg per meter.
4. C Channel
C Channel, also called unequal channel, can protect the edges of plywood, MDF, glass, and composite panels. In industrial applications, it can also serve as a guide rail for panels and sliding doors. A custom die can add features such as drainage slots, fixing holes, and radiused flange tips.
C Channel is available in proportions from narrow and deep to wide and shallow. Section 32042 measures 12.70 mm wide, with legs 50.80 mm high, a wall thickness of 0.90 mm, and a weight of 0.182 kg per meter. In comparison, Section 32053 is 101.60 mm wide and has legs only 19.05 mm high.
5. Heat Sink
Heat sinks are used to cool inverters, transformers, amplifiers, and telecommunications equipment such as 5G base stations. Their fins can be straight, flared, or serrated, and closely spaced, tall fins increase the cooling surface area. Before a die is made, Exalummetal’s engineering team can work with buyers to optimize fin geometry and base thickness.
Heat sink is available in sections with near-identical outer dimensions but different wall thicknesses. Section 96003 is 50.00 mm wide and 60.00 mm high, with a wall thickness of 1.50 mm and a weight of 0.875 kg per meter. Section 96001 has nearly the same outside dimensions, at 49.90 mm by 60.00 mm, but its wall thickness is 1.25 mm and its weight is 0.799 kg per meter.
